Specifications

Our SoftShell flexible storage tanks are designed for portability and storage of bulk liquids such as potable water and a variety of engine fuels and chemicals (the latter require a “BermLiner” – a lined protection dam). SoftShell tanks are installed quickly with limited on-site preparation. These tanks are easy to dismantle and when packed for storage can collapse to approximately 5% of their full volume. In addition to military applications, they are ideal for use by power, trucking and mining companies, chemical plants and emergency fire or oil spill response groups.

The SoftShell Design Advantage

The SoftShell tank is unique because it features a computer generated design that includes rounded corners to re-distribute shell stress uniformly throughout the tank. This greatly reduces the possibility of maintenance leaks and is far superior to other designs.

SoftShell military tanks are made from a new high-performance synthetic rubber coated fabric, designed to withstand high temperature and be compatible with a wide variety of engine fuels. To ensure a high level of performance and reliability in a high temperature climate, during manufacture panel joints are routinely load tested at over 93º C. All SoftShell panel joints are designed to withstand forces, like those of a pressure vessel. Joint efficiency is routinely tested and found to be 110% efficient.

Fst’s are a mobile option to storing liquids when temporary storage facilities are needed – massive savings on the huge expense of erecting permanent structures to house liquids etc, or when the time frame to construct such permanent structures stretches into lengthy periods! Being fully mobile they can be uplifted and transported to new sites as and when required.
